Neuschwanstein castle, Bavaria

Neuschwanstein castle, Bavaria

The #neuschwanstein castle built by Ludwig II 👑in Bavaria, Germany. Walt Disney’s logo is inspired by this castle. Gorgeous views and a crazy history lesson to go with it. Ludwig II was so eccentric that he was and is still referred to as the mad king. In his short life of 40 years he went about building castles and castles. This one in particular was the most dramatic. Unfortunately his death came before completion of this castle. Right opposite…

Le Jardin du Roi, Seychelles

Le Jardin du Roi, Seychelles

In my 5 years of traveling, Le Jardin du Roi tops the list of world’s most interesting places. This place is a spice garden in Seychelles modeled after 18th century France. The garden itself makes for a wonderful self-guided walk amongst greens like vanilla vines, citronella, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper and other spices. Not only is this place one fabulous sight, it smells delicious too. HISTORY The original jardin was curated in 1772 at Anse Royale, Mahe. By the way, Anse…

JARDIN MAJORELLE, MARRAKECH

JARDIN MAJORELLE, MARRAKECH

Marrakech is brown. Especially in May. In the heart of this arid and earthy city, is a small botanical garden full of colors and impeccable design. Jardin Majorelle is a 12-acre garden crafted by French painter Jacques Majorelle. Curating thisuniquegarden to perfection took Jacques over 40 years. The brown outside does nothing to prepare you for the bold cobalt blue (named Majorelle blue after this artist) inside with an expanse of greens. The small nondescript entrance might dissuade many visitors from…

MAGICAL PATIOS OF CORDOBA

MAGICAL PATIOS OF CORDOBA

Cordoba is a small city in Andalucia (Southern Spain) with a fascinating history. But my takeaway from this beautiful city is that flowers make everything pretty. This city has many narrow cobbled pathways dotted with homes of different colors. Every home is filled with uniquely shaped planters, vibrant flowers, quirky garden accessories, and fluffy dogs. While that’s a pretty sight, I came across a little sign outside a home that said “patios of Cordoba – winners.” So I walked in….
